UPDATE: the frozen total is now about $3 billion, not $2.54 billion. Does that change your plan?
CoinTelegraph updated its report at 01:19 UTC on 30 Oct 2026, about 06:19 PKT, saying Binance put the verified total of frozen assets at around $3 billion, up from the earlier $2.54 billion figure used in my morning post. Binance still pledges to cover all losses, and deposits and withdrawals remain suspended while checks continue. The same update puts the Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index at 30, fear, its lowest since 14 Aug, and notes Aave froze new deposits and borrowing on its V3 and V4 markets as a precaution while saying its contracts were unaffected.
My read is that a bigger frozen number does not automatically mean a bigger price crash, but it does mean the uncertainty lasts longer, and uncertainty is what keeps buyers away. BTC is around $77,200 on CoinGecko now, a little above this morning, yet still below $78,000, so I still would not trust a bounce until $78,000 is reclaimed or a washout toward $75,000 clears out weak hands. With the $11 billion options expiry at 13:00 PKT still ahead, I am keeping size small and waiting.
Before the 13:00 PKT expiry, do you think BTC reclaims $78,000, or falls back below $76,000 first?
