He wrote that he's an investor in trade[XYZ], which is partnering with ICE, the company that owns the New York Stock Exchange, to bring 24/7 perpetual futures on Hyperliquid to US traders. ICE would run the exchange and the clearing and take a minority stake. The plan still needs CFTC approval, and no launch date has been given.
The post passed 4 million views in a few hours. $HYPE is up about 17% on the day, near $95, a few dollars under its all-time high of $97.96.
This isn't his first bet on the ecosystem either. His family office reported 2.94 million shares of Hyperliquid Strategies (PURR) worth $23.15 million as of June 30.
The odd part is the timing. In the same week, the number of companies objecting to tokenized versions of their stock on ICE's other venue, the joint one with OKX, reached 38, with Walmart and Eli Lilly the latest. ICE is pushing into crypto from two doors at once. One is getting a legend's first post. The other keeps getting no's.
