ETH is around $2,353 (+0.73%, Finnhub just now), still above the $2,293 low we flagged earlier today. But BTC puts are priced 10+ vol points above calls into Friday's 08:00 UTC expiry (CoinDesk/Deribit). That's insurance buying, not confidence.
I'm neutral-to-cautious into expiry. The Teku/Besu patch contained today's validator-reward scare — no exploitation reported, default nodes unaffected — so this isn't a panic story. The drag is steadier: ETH ETF outflows eased to $21.4M on Oct 28 from $88.6M on Oct 26, yet that's still three straight days out (KuCoin/Farside). Easing selling is not fresh buying.
If $2,392 breaks, $2,400 max pain is next. If it holds, expiry hedging can pin ETH below it. A drop under $2,293 invalidates this view.
