Who Will Outdo the Other in This Quarter - Google or Microsoft?
This coming earnings period promises to be very exciting! Both Google and Microsoft are heavily investing in the development of AI technology, and their next quarterly reports will give some insights into where the tech space is going.
Google Inc. ($GOOGL) has the dominant share of the search advertising market, but AI can shift the paradigm of information searches. Now we have to see whether the company will be able to preserve its search-based income while developing the AI technology. Revenue and profit growth, ad revenues, and AI initiatives will be in the focus of my attention.
As for Microsoft Inc. ($MSFT), it also deserves to get some attention in connection with its growing AI ecosystem, cloud computing operations, and development of Copilot software. High cloud computing demand and AI adoption can drive the growth of the company, but investors will look to see some concrete results.
What's my opinion? I believe that earnings alone can't move stock prices, but also guidance, future growth estimates and management comments may be important. Even a very good performance can cause unexpected response from the market.
I'll be watching the earnings reports closely and will compare the two companies in terms of business momentum. Of course, figures are more important than any kind of hype.
