Gold price is showing some signs of life again around $4,000, but analyst More Crypto Online is not ready to call the correction finished.

XAU/USD has recovered from an intraday low near $3,990 toward roughly $4,020, a move of close to 1% from the session low.

More Crypto Online still wants much more evidence.

“Before I call a bounce in gold,” he wrote, he wants to see three things: a break above Friday’s high, a strong move higher rather than a slow drift, and more than one green daily candle.

Until then, his view is simple: sellers remain in control.

Gold Chart Analysis

The daily chart explains his caution.

Gold has already fallen from the $5,500 area earlier in the year toward roughly $4,000, and the broader structure still contains a sequence of corrective moves rather than a confirmed new uptrend.

Price is currently sitting close to a horizontal support region around $3,950-$4,000.

More Crypto Online’s Elliott Wave labels leave room for another corrective leg into a much deeper Fibonacci zone.

The first larger region on his chart begins around the 38.2% retracement near $3,760.

The deeper 50% retracement appears around $3,300.

Those are not immediate price targets. They show where a larger Wave 4 correction could eventually extend if the current support fails.

That distinction is important.

Gold does not need to fall toward $3,300 simply because that level is visible on the chart.

The analyst first wants price itself to prove whether the latest move is a genuine reversal or just another weak rebound inside the correction.

The Three Conditions Bulls Need

I like the way More Crypto Online approaches this because he is not trying to predict the bottom from one green candle.

His first condition is a break above Friday’s high.

That would show gold can actually clear a recent resistance point rather than bounce briefly from oversold conditions.

His second condition is speed.

A strong move higher would indicate buyers are willing to chase price. A slow grind upward can still be vulnerable to another selloff.

The third is follow-through.

One positive session after a large decline tells us very little. Several green days would give the recovery far more credibility.

For me, those conditions are more useful than trying to call $3,975 or $4,000 the exact bottom.

Why Gold Is Recovering Today

The macro picture is mixed.

Gold has received some support from a small retreat in oil prices and slightly lower pressure from Treasury yields, which helped XAU recover from below $4,000. At the same time, traders remain cautious ahead of Wednesday’s Federal Reserve decision.

The Fed is widely expected to leave rates unchanged, but the market is far more interested in what policymakers say about December.

Persistent inflation and oil still near $116 keep another rate increase on the table. Reuters reported that traders currently assign roughly an 82% probability to a December hike.

The dollar is another obstacle.

A stronger U.S. currency makes gold more expensive for international buyers, and the dollar reached close to a two-week high earlier today. Treasury yields also remain near 5%.

So today’s recovery is encouraging, but the macro environment has not suddenly turned bullish.

My Gold Price Outlook

I would treat the current move as an attempted stabilization rather than a confirmed bottom.

Gold getting back above $4,000 is useful.

The next step is clearing roughly $4,030, which has capped several recent recovery attempts. Above there, $4,090-$4,100 becomes the next area I would watch.

If gold loses $3,975 again, however, sellers would regain the upper hand quickly.

My short-term framework is:

Scenario Gold price path Bullish confirmation Break $4,030 → $4,090-$4,100 Neutral $3,975-$4,030 consolidation Bearish continuation Lose $3,975 → $3,900 and lower

I believe More Crypto Online is right not to call the bottom yet.

Gold has bounced, but a bounce and a trend reversal are two different things.

If XAU breaks recent resistance with real momentum and follows it with several strong sessions, then the recovery becomes far more convincing.

Until that happens, sellers still deserve the benefit of the doubt.
