Visser Labs founder Jordi Visser, a former Morgan Stanley managing director and Weiss chief investment officer, said crypto assets could deliver better returns than AI stocks as AI agents drive demand for crypto payments and tokenized assets. According to ChainCatcher, Visser made the remarks on Cointelegraph’s Trade Secrets podcast and said the current crypto bull market would not have happened without AI.

Visser compared AI agents to the crypto industry’s App Store or smartphones, saying users could direct agents to carry out financial tasks such as trades. He said a severe AI downturn that weighs on stocks could send the crypto market back to previous lows, but would not end the bull market. He also said AI’s “fireworks show” was over—not AI itself—and investors should lower their expectations for returns from AI stocks.

As of August, Visser held only Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana; he later began buying a broader range of tokens. Bitcoin remains his largest position. He sees Dogecoin as a signal of returning retail enthusiasm and maintains an equal-weighted index of 42 tokens and four publicly traded stocks that has outperformed Bitcoin since June. He has also invested in the privacy theme, citing Zcash and Monero as fitting his investment thesis.
