Two DeFi tokens where the headlines and the charts are telling different stories: $UNI and $HYPE

$UNI (around $7.09, up about 2.3% in 24 hours)

On October 22 Uniswap switched on Aggregator Hooks on Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain. It plugs seven liquidity sources into Uniswap routing, which Uniswap says covers more than 90% of DEX activity on those chains, and swaps routed this way pay protocol fees that go toward burning UNI.

That's a real link between usage and supply. The early numbers are still tiny though. One tracker counted about $91,128 across 462 swaps on Robinhood Chain up to October 24.

The other thing worth noticing: CoinDesk reported that Arthur Hayes' fund Maelstrom sold 323,000 UNI over the weekend as part of cutting its whole directional book, and UNI still finished the day higher. When a known seller gets absorbed like that, I pay attention.

The chart is less kind. UNI is down about 30% over 30 days. The October 24 low at $6.516 is support, and $7.79 from October 21 is the ceiling.

$HYPE (around $78.33, up about 2.5% in 24 hours)

The headline here is that Hyperliquid Strategies more than tripled its buyback to $100 million. Read the fine print. That buyback is for the company's own PURR shares, not HYPE tokens. On the token side, Tokenomist reported that the October 6 team unlock of 3.75 million HYPE went to a single buyer over the counter rather than being sold on the open market.

HYPE is roughly flat on the week and down about 16% over 30 days. The $74.45 low from October 24 is support, with $82.54 as the weekly high to clear.
