What do people usually do when a price crosses a thousand dollars? Most think: time to sell.

With ZEC, many did the opposite.

Over the past year, the private pool went from about 11% of total supply to more than 30%. Analysts read this as coins being held, not sold.

Fewer coins available to sell. That’s one argument for why the price has held.

But this is where I get stuck.

Holding isn’t demand. A coin that goes into the room can also come back out.
And when more coins sit in the private pool, visible liquidity shrinks. It gets harder to tell where the price is really being set.

So the same number can tell two different stories. Either people genuinely believe. Or they’re just waiting.

I’m watching one thing: does the private pool’s share keep rising, or does it suddenly start falling? If it falls, those held coins are heading back toward the market.

For you, what does a growing private pool signal: conviction, or waiting?
