Binance Earn Locked products, part of Simple Earn, let you commit a coin for a fixed term, such as 7, 60 or 90 days, in exchange for a usually higher APR. During the term the coins sit in your Earn account and can't be traded or withdrawn. When the term ends, the coins return to your wallet, and early redemption, where allowed, costs you all rewards received.

What does "locked" mean in Binance Earn?

Locked means your coins are committed to a product for a fixed number of days. In return, Locked products usually show a higher APR than Flexible products for the same coin.

  • Flexible - subscribe and redeem at any time, rewards accrue daily, APR can change.

  • Locked - fixed duration, coins can't be used elsewhere until it ends, and the APR can still change daily.

  • Where the coins sit - in your Earn balance, not in your Spot or Funding wallet, so they don't appear as available to trade.

The Simple Earn list shows Flexible and Locked options for each coin, with the APR and duration in days for every term.

How do you subscribe to a Locked product?

It only takes a few clicks once your coins are in your Spot or Funding wallet.

  1. Open Earn and go to Simple Earn.

  2. Search for the coin, for example USDT, BNB or ETH.

  3. Choose the Locked option and pick a duration.

  4. Check the APR, the minimum amount and the auto-subscribe setting.

  5. Enter the amount, read the terms and confirm.

The Locked subscribe window lets you pick a duration and shows the estimated rewards, the first distribution date, the end date and the Auto-Subscribe option.

When do Locked rewards get paid?

Rewards on Locked products start accruing the day after you subscribe and are paid out daily. The subscribe window shows the first distribution date and the date the term ends.

The APR on a Locked product is not fixed. It can change on a daily basis, so treat the number shown as an estimate.

When the term ends, your locked coins return to your wallet. If auto-subscribe is on, the funds may roll into a new term or a Flexible product instead, so check that setting if you need the coins back.

Can you redeem a Locked product early?

Yes, many Locked products allow early redemption, but it has a cost.

  • Early redemption is available only for selected Locked products.

  • You lose all rewards received during the term, so they are taken off the balance you get back.

  • The remaining coins go to your Spot Wallet within 72 hours, and the redemption can't be reversed once confirmed.

The exact rules for your product are shown in the redemption window before you confirm. Subscriptions and redemptions are open daily between 00:10 and 23:50 UTC.

The Product Rules tab explains rewards, subscription times and what early redemption of a Locked product means.

Why does Binance show your funds as locked?

If a balance looks stuck, it is usually committed somewhere rather than missing. Common reasons are:

  • An active Locked Simple Earn subscription that hasn't reached its end date.

  • An open order on Spot, which reserves the coins until it fills or is cancelled.

  • Coins held in a staking product or a campaign with its own lock period.

  • An early redemption that has been confirmed but not yet credited, which can take up to 72 hours.

Open Wallets, then Earn, to see each position with its end date. Once the coins are back, you can move them between wallets. Related guide: how to transfer crypto between your Binance wallets.

Is Locked or Flexible better for you?

It depends on whether you might need the coins soon.

  • Choose Flexible if you want to trade or withdraw at short notice.

  • Choose Locked if you plan to hold the coin anyway and the usually higher APR is worth the wait.

  • Split the amount if you're unsure, keeping part Flexible as a buffer.

Earn products are not risk-free. The coin price can still fall during the term, and APRs change over time. This is not financial advice.
