📊 Crypto Market Update | Oct 24, 2026
The market is under pressure again. BTC is trading around $80,650, with most large-cap altcoins lower alongside it. (captainaltcoin)
Prices
🔹 $BTC TC: ~$80,650, down roughly 1% in 24 hours.

🔹 $XRP: ~$1.28. (Why Is the Crypto Market Down Today (October 24)? - CaptainAltcoin +3)
What's driving the move
🔹 ETF outflows: Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw about $635.6M in net withdrawals on Oct 22, the largest daily outflow since June.
🔹 Liquidations: Around $87–91M in BTC positions were liquidated in 24 hours, mostly longs.
🔹 Oil and macro: Brent oil climbed above $111 a barrel on Oct 22, and Bitcoin slid from about $84K to roughly $80.8K within hours.
🔹 Fed: Bitcoin is drifting ahead of the Fed's Oct 27–28 meeting.
🔹 Ethereum upgrade delay: Developers postponed the Glamsterdam activation on the Hoodi testnet (planned for Oct 26) over smart contract compatibility concerns.
🔹 Institutions: HSBC launched RedCoin, and Bybit secured a Dubai licence.
🔹 Dominance: Altcoins are falling harder than Bitcoin, which pushes BTC dominance higher. (Why Is the Crypto Market Down Today (October 24)? - CaptainAltcoin +6)
Levels to watch
🔹 $BTC: $81,000 and $80,000 are the floors to hold. Resistance sits near $85,000.
🔹 $ETH: traders treat $2,300 as the floor. (Bitcoin Price News: Big Funds Bought $1B of BTC Before the Dip, and Pepeto Buyers Eye 100x +2)
My view: Weekend liquidity is thin and the Fed meeting is days away, so volatility can spike quickly. I'm not chasing bounces. A hold above $80K is the first sign of stability, and a break below it would put $78K–$79K in play. Keep leverage low.
