🚨 Eni More Than Doubles Quarterly Profit as Shareholder Returns Surge

Italian energy major @Eni reported a strong third quarter, with adjusted net profit more than doubling year over year to €2.8 billion, comfortably exceeding analysts’ expectations of €2.5 billion.

The company announced a €1.3 billion special dividend and expanded its share buyback programme to €3.8 billion, reinforcing its commitment to shareholder returns. Eni also raised its 2026 underlying operating cash flow forecast from €15 billion to €16.5 billion, reflecting stronger financial expectations.

Hydrocarbon production climbed 7% year over year to 1.83 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, while improved refining performance and higher energy prices supported overall profitability.

Investors welcomed the results, with Eni shares gaining approximately 4% on Friday.

The bigger picture is clear: stronger production, resilient operations, and improved cash flow can translate into higher shareholder payouts. However, sustaining this momentum will depend on energy-market conditions, oil-price stability, and the company's ability to navigate geopolitical uncertainty.
