Ethereum Delays Glamsterdam Hoodi Fork as Developers Test EIP-8037
- Ethereum core developers have postponed the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet to investigate the effects of EIP-8037 on existing smart contracts, with no new activation date set.
- The postponement removes the Amsterdam execution layer and Gloas consensus layer activations from Hoodi's configuration, but does not affect the chain's history or mainnet users.
- Developers had previously encountered testing issues with EIP-8037, and Ethereum's ETH token has seen a slight decline, trading around $2,400, down 14% over the past month.
