@KITE AI The AI agent stuff I read mostly skips the money part. Everyone’s excited about what agents can do, but almost nobody asks how they’re supposed to pay for things without us hovering over every click.
That’s the part of Kite I keep coming back to. Not “AI will transact” as a slogan — the boring permission problem underneath it. You can’t give an agent your card. You shouldn’t give it your keys. And approving every tiny API call kind of defeats the point of having an agent in the first place.
Kite’s answer is basically a spending session. You approve a budget, a per-payment cap, and a time window with a passkey. The agent works inside that box. A research agent gets $3 for an hour, 50 cents max per purchase. It can do its thing without nagging you, but it can’t go wild.
Mainnet is live on Avalanche. They’ve raised $35M with PayPal Ventures and General Catalyst involved, and there are PayPal and Shopify pilots in the works. Cross-chain payments are being built out too, so settlement doesn’t have to happen on the same chain as the funds.
Does that mean agents will suddenly make great decisions? No. But it handles the trust layer first, which is the part that has to work before any of this becomes normal. Kite feels less like an AI hype play and more like plumbing for a problem we’ll run into sooner than people think.
