The words “rate certainty” next to Nillion made me stop, because nothing in how $NIL works is about rates. The network sells blind computation, meaning MPC and encrypted storage run across Petnet clusters, and its DeFi example is something like a private order book, where certainty means your intent stays hidden until execution, not that a yield stays fixed. That’s a different missing piece than the title implies. #Nillion @Nillion treats privacy as infrastructure for builders, and the token’s job is to pay for that compute and storage, with staking and a 1% annual inflation schedule underneath. Demand for $NIL therefore depends on applications actually calling the network, not on depositors chasing a number. Peers like $SCRT and $ROSE have faced the same question for years: private computation is easy to admire and harder to find in daily fee flow. What I keep returning to is how easily the “DeFi” label stretches over a project whose first customers look more like AI and data teams than lenders. If the certainty on offer is confidentiality, who in DeFi is already paying for it today?
