Binance updated its Write to Earn (W2E) Terms on 16 October 2026. In my view, the key point is that the reward calculation methods and creators’ responsibilities are now set out in greater detail, rather than simply a change to the commission rate.
1. Trading commissions
Previous terms: A commission mechanism had already been announced.
Updated terms: The 20% share of net trading fees and the conditions for exclusions are clarified.
2. Engagement rewards
Previous terms: Earlier information focused more heavily on trading commissions.
Updated terms: The rules for genuine engagement rewards are explained more clearly, taking into account content quality and the reputation of the accounts engaging with it.
3. Reward eligibility periods
Previous terms: Information about the time limit for earning trading commissions was already available.
Updated terms: The periods are specified as 7 days for trading commissions and 30 days for engagement rewards. Editing or reposting content does not restart either period.
4. Livestream rewards
Previous terms: Incentives for creators were already in place.
Updated terms: Additional rewards for the top 100 livestreams are clarified: ranks 1–30 receive an additional 30%, while ranks 31–100 receive an additional 10%.
5. Anti-fraud measures and disclosure of interests
Previous terms: Compliance requirements were already in place.
Updated terms: Monitoring procedures, reward clawbacks and creators’ obligations to disclose financial interests related to the assets they mention are described in greater detail.
W2E is now governed by more detailed rules, with a clearer distinction between trading performance, genuine engagement and content quality. This may help creators better understand how the programme operates, although rewards remain subject to eligibility requirements and Binance’s decisions.
