Can an AI agent really pay for things on its own? I doubted it until I priced the friction.
Say a research agent buys data at $0.002 per query. Card rails charge roughly 30 cents fixed plus a percentage. The fee is about 150x the purchase. That's not a payments problem. It's a wrong-rails problem.
@KITE AI AI is trying to fix this with an L1 built for agent payments. What caught my eye isn't speed. It's identity. Users, agents and sessions are separated, so an agent gets a limited key instead of my full wallet. If a session leaks, the damage has a ceiling.
Scenario: my agent renews a $12 data subscription. I'd want a spending cap, an approved merchant list and an audit trail. Without those, I'm not handing over the wallet.
Not sure yet how this holds under real load. Adoption depends on whether service providers accept agent payments.
Why it matters: if agents transact, permissions become the product, not throughput. $KITE
Would you let an agent spend your money with a $50 daily cap, and what would you want to see first? #KiteBBW $BTCDOM $LABD.ETF
I trimmed one sentence to keep it within the character range. Binance Square counts the tags too, so check the final count after pasting.
