The Operator Cannot Preview The Result 🎰
Any game that pays out on a draw runs into the same question, which is who generated the number and whether they saw it before you did.
On $SOL a program has to keep its state where any node can read it, so the usual answer is to publish the mechanism and hope nobody can predict it, and the other answer is to let the operator generate the draw and ask players to take their word for it.
Rips took neither. Its new tile game and jackpot use Arcium for the draw itself, which means the number is assembled from pieces no machine holds more than one of, and nobody running the game can choose the outcome or look at it early.
What the game pays out is pack credit that opens real graded cards, so the thing being drawn for is a physical asset rather than a number on a screen.
The payout posts to Solana like any other transaction, so a player can check what they won after the fact without anyone having been able to read it before.
Every draw on-chain has asked players to trust whoever produced the number, and Arcium is what removes that question from the game.
