I got BTC's direction right. Fees took the bigger slice. 😂

An unposted receipt from October 2, not a live trade:

Shorted 0.006 BTC at $86,056.30.
Bought it back at $85,889.60.
Held for about 26 minutes.

BTC moved $166.70 my way.
Realized PnL: +1.0002 USDT.
Entry + exit commissions: 0.5158 USDT.
Left after those fees: +0.4844 USDT. No funding charge recorded during the trade.

Both fills were taker fills. Commissions ate 51.6% of the gross win.

My chart analysis earned a dollar. My execution kept the change.

The lesson isn't that every order should be a limit order. A maker order that never fills isn't free profit either.

It's that a small scalp needs enough room to pay for getting in AND getting out. Being right about direction and making the trade worth taking are different tests.

Do you review your wins after fees, or does the green PnL number end the investigation?
