Strategy proposes daily dividend payments for $STRC a move toward price stabilization and increased liquidity.
Strategy (MSTR), the world's largest Bitcoin treasury company, is proposing to convert the dividend payments for STRC preferred shares (and three other preferred shares) to a daily accrual basis. This plan requires approval by common shareholders through a vote at a special meeting on October 28. If approved, STRC will implement a daily record date starting November 1, with payments made on the following business day (expected to occur for the first time on November 2).
Currently, STRC pays dividends twice per month (a floating rate of approximately 12% per annum on a $100 par value). The transition to a 365-day payment schedule would not alter the total annual dividend amount; rather, it would simply divide the payments into smaller installments (approximately 3–4 cents per day, depending on the applicable interest rate). The objective is to reduce price volatility around the ex-dividend date, increase liquidity, and support STRC in trading closer to its par value (which currently typically trades below $100).
This represents the next evolutionary step following the transition from monthly to semi-monthly payments in mid-2026. With an STRC size of approximately USD 9 billion in par value, this change enables income-generating investors to receive more consistent cash flows while simultaneously strengthening the Strategy's ability to raise preferred capital to continue accumulating Bitcoin without increasing cost obligations. However, implementation remains subject to legal compliance and the decisions of the board of directors.
