A rule written by an index committee can move more Bitcoin exposure in a day than most traders will buy or sell all year, and it never has to touch the $BTC order book.

That's the part that still catches people. You do the work, you wait for your level, and then a flow you can't see on the chart runs straight through your stop. I've sat through two cycles where the pain wasn't the narrative. It was the mechanical selling nobody had priced in until it was already done.

MSCI is closing in on rules that could exclude Strategy from indexes a lot of passive money is required to track. Strategy isn't just another stock in this market. It's the cleanest equity pipe institutions have into Bitcoin, a balance sheet the tape still reads as a leveraged $BTC position. If the rules say those funds can't hold it, they don't debate the thesis. They sell on the rebalance, the stock absorbs it first, and the coin feels it second because the two have been tied together for years. A Fear and Greed reading sitting dead neutral at 50 is an awkward place for that kind of supply. Nobody is scared enough to have already stepped aside, and the $USDT on the sidelines isn't bidding just because a headline looks buyable.

The hope is that any exclusion is a one-time adjustment, the same way other index and trust unlocks eventually got absorbed. The fear is that committees are quietly deciding which doors institutions are even allowed to walk through. Both can be true for a while.

Anyone else watching the rebalance calendar more closely than the chart on this one?
