Bitcoin traded near $82,189 in Friday Asian hours, up 1.67%, after buyers absorbed a brief drop to $79,800 that lasted around two hours. The bounce carried it to about $82,500 at its high. Asian equities recovered alongside it, with South Korea’s Kospi up nearly 3%. One market declined to participate: Treasuries gave back only one basis point of Thursday’s 13.6 point rush into safety.
The Floor Broke and Was Rebuilt the Same Session
Bitcoin had defended a low around $80,400 twice in the past week. Thursday’s slide cut straight through it to $79,800.
Buyers reappeared almost immediately. The time spent below $80,000 was roughly two hours, and Bitcoin held above $81,000 through the rest of Asian trading.
A level that breaks and is reclaimed within hours tells you something different from one that holds cleanly. The bid is real but it sits lower than it did a week ago, and the $80,000 line has now been tested three times in five sessions.
Treasuries Are the Dissenting Vote
Thursday’s bond rally was large: the 10-year yield fell 13.6 basis points, with the 20- and 30-year falling more than 14. Friday’s move up is one basis point, to 5.07%.That returns about 7% of Thursday’s flight to safety. The other 93% remains in place.
Equities and crypto are pricing a rebound. The bond market is pricing the same growth concern it was pricing yesterday. When those two disagree, the bond market has historically been the one worth watching, because the move into long-dated Treasuries reflected weaker growth expectations rather than a change in Fed pricing.TSMC Fell on Good News, Which Is the Real Signal
Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix both gained more than 2%, and the MSCI Asia Pacific gauge rose 1.3% with roughly three advancers for every decliner.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing was the exception. It slipped despite an upbeat outlook, with concerns over AI spending still weighing.
That is the detail worth dwelling on. TSMC reported record third-quarter revenue of NT$1.49 trillion with analysts expecting profit up around 65%, $ZEC $TSMB $BTC
