$INJ is ~$9.25 at 15:25 ICT Oct 16 (OKX INJ-USDT, +27% 24h, H/L 9.353/7.063). Prior range $7.06–8.69 broke out today into a $9.35 spike. I'm not chasing that print. Here's the retest plan.
🔥 Catalyst
• Oct 8: Gulf Labs (blockchain arm of Thailand's GULF Group, ~$27B market cap) went live as an institutional Injective validator — official blog + GlobeNewswire. Collaboration also points at tokenization, stablecoins, and Thai distribution.
• Sep 24: Canary Capital filed an amended S-1/A for a Canary Staked INJ ETF (preliminary — not effective, not approved). 21Shares also has an amended Injective ETF filing (proposed TINJ); REX-Osprey INJ + Staking ETF is registered/pending. Filings ≠ launch.
• IIP-709 (fixed gas for exchange messages) is in voting and closes ~Oct 17 17:00 UTC. At pack time: ~72% Yes, quorum met, projected likely pass — still live.
• Context: M-INJ (Merkle Capital, Thai SEC-supervised INJ fund) and a rewritten Injective whitepaper ("Finance-Native L1") are already out. CoinGecko trending #3 today.
📊 Daily (1D)

Oct 15 swept to $7.063 then closed $8.54. Oct 16 (UTC day) opened ~$8.54, tagged $9.353, and trades ~$9.25. Price is well above daily EMA20 (~$7.71) and EMA50 (~$6.97). Wilder RSI(14) ~66: strong, not a "buy the top" print.
⏱️ 4H

Breakout bar (16/10 00:00) ran 8.535 → 9.337. Next 4H wicked to 9.353 and closed 9.255. Live price sits inside the $9.25–9.35 first-resistance band. Wilder RSI(14) ~71 — hot. Broken range top $8.45–8.69 is the retest bid; secondary base $8.00–8.20 (15/10 close 8.005 + EMA20 4H ~8.19).
🧲 Context
• 24h OKX spot volume ~$7.6M. Binance print unavailable from this box (geo-block).
• Range map before the break: $7.063–8.685. Breakout thesis dies on a 4H close back under $7.99.
🟢 Bull case
Hold a retest of $8.45–8.69. A clean 4H base above $9.35 opens $9.85–10.10 (2025 Oct supply). ETF-filing headlines + IIP-709 result into Oct 17 can keep flows bid — still not a chase signal at the spike.
🔴 Bear case
Fail to hold $8.45–8.69 and $8.00–8.20 is next. A 4H close under $7.99 invalidates the breakout base. Then the sweep zone $7.06–7.20 is back in play. "Buy the filing / buy the vote" into a +27% day is how you get trapped.
🧠 My take
I'm not buying $9.25. I'd bid $8.45–8.69, add $8.00–8.20, and cut on a 4H close under $7.99 (stop ~$7.95).
RR from $8.57 alone: ~1.1–1.3R to TP1 and ~2.1–2.5R to TP2. With the add filled (avg ~$8.34): ~2.4–4.6R. Edge is the retest, not the spike.
Self-critique: RSI on 4H is still hot (~71). If the retest never comes and $9.35 holds as support, I miss the continuation — same patience tax as always. I'd still rather miss than chase first resistance after a +27% day.
Do you bid $8.45–8.69, or wait for $8.00–8.20? 👇
