According to CNBC, Cboe Global Markets will extend options trading hours on Monday for 24 of the most actively traded stocks and five exchange-traded funds, adding sessions from 7:30 a.m. to 9:25 a.m. ET and from 4:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. ET. The move follows SEC approval in May and applies to names including the Magnificent Seven, Oracle, Micron, Robinhood, Nokia, Palantir, Pfizer and Alibaba, as well as SPY, QQQ, IWM, GLD and XLF. Cboe said the list will be updated twice a year, and the exchange said pre-market options trading hit a record average of 228,097 contracts a day last quarter. The extended-hours program is another step toward around-the-clock trading, and Cboe also plans to list additional morning expiries on Nov. 9. Separately, the exchange received SEC approval Tuesday to offer binary options tied to company-specific key performance indicators.
