💥 JUST IN: Bitcoin Under $81K, ETH Under $2,400. Flush or Breakdown?
One red candle did the damage.
BTC: about $81.7K to $80.7K.
ETH: about $2,405 to $2,353, the harder hit.
Roughly $350M in leveraged longs were reportedly wiped out in about 10 minutes. A liquidation is a forced close: once losses eat a trader’s margin, the position gets sold at market, and that selling trips the next layer of stops. That chain is a long squeeze, which is why this came as a cliff, not a slope.
For the record, my last BTC update said hold $81.0K or the $80.3K low gets tested again. It didn’t hold. On ETH, I asked test or trapdoor at $2,405. Trapdoor.
Levels that decide it. 🎯
BTC sits inside the $80.1K to $81.3K demand zone (where buyers stepped in hard before), a few hundred dollars above $80.3K, the low that launched the run at $84K. Reclaim $81.0K to $81.3K fast, and this was just a flush. Lose $80.3K and the bottom I’ve been leaning on is gone, with $80K and then $75K to $78K next.
ETH stands on its last line, the $2,350 to $2,365 shelf that formed September’s base. It needs $2,405 back to call this a shakeout. A close below the shelf breaks that base.
A day after a hotter-than-expected CPI print, the backdrop isn’t helping bulls either. Cascades like this punish late leverage both ways, and small size plus waiting for a close beats catching the knife.
Does $80.3K hold again, or is $75K to $78K next? 🔥
