Ledger has asked sellers and distributors of its hardware wallets in six Southeast Asian countries and Hong Kong to suspend sales and remove the devices from shelves while it investigates reports of tampered products. According to Cointelegraph, the request covers resellers in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong, and follows earlier action involving reseller CryptoBilis, which was told to stop sales and shipments. The company said the investigation remains focused on determining who tampered with the devices and where in the distribution chain the issue occurred, while stressing that the confirmed incidents so far are limited to Southeast Asia. Ledger also said it has not verified any drain linked to a device bought elsewhere, and added that there is no indication its infrastructure, systems, services or direct sales channel have been compromised.

The investigation became public on Oct. 9 after reports of stolen crypto linked to devices purchased through the reseller. Since then, users in other regions, including Europe, have reported suspected tampering in devices bought from retailers. Ledger said it is continuing to review the reports as it works to identify the source of the issue and assess whether additional devices may have been affected. The company’s broader sales suspension request expands the scope of its earlier response as concerns over device integrity continue to spread beyond the initial reseller case.
