Trezor said it will cut the number of its authorized resellers as a precaution after reports of tampered Ledger devices. The company said there is no evidence its own wallets have been compromised, but it will remove certain resellers from its approved list effective Jan. 1 and stop shipping to them starting Tuesday. CCO Danny Sanders confirmed the notifications. The move follows a Ledger incident where a device bought from reseller CryptoBilis contained an unauthorized hardware implant that read recovery phrases from the screen and sent them over cellular networks. Researchers estimate the Ledger‑related theft could be between $72 million and $86 million, although Ledger has not confirmed the total loss. Trezor advises users to buy directly, verify the seal, and consider a multisig setup with devices from different makers.
