What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin, or $BTC, is the first cryptocurrency. It was created in 2009 by someone named Satoshi Nakamoto. Think of it as "digital gold" — limited, valuable, and nobody controls it. There will only ever be 21 million BTC.

Why do people care about BTC?

1. Scarcity: Just like gold, BTC is limited. Banks can print more money anytime. But no one can print more Bitcoin.

2. Decentralized: No bank, no government owns it. It runs on thousands of computers around the world. That’s why people call it "freedom money".

3. Borderless: You can send $1 or $1 million to anyone, anywhere, in 10 minutes. No weekend, no holiday, no middleman.

How does it actually work?

Every BTC transaction is recorded on a public ledger called the "blockchain". Miners use computers to verify these transactions and get rewarded with new BTC. This is what keeps the network secure.

$BTC in 2026 - Where are we now?

We’re past the "is crypto a scam?" phase. Big companies, countries, and even retirement funds now hold BTC. The reason is simple: inflation. People want an asset that can’t be printed away.

$BTC But BTC is still volatile. It can drop 20% in a week, and pump 50% the next month. That’s why the people who win are not the smartest traders. They are the most patient holders.

The 3 rules every BTC beginner should know

1. Not your keys, not your coins: If you buy BTC on Binance, you can keep it there. But for long term, learn about hardware wallets.

2. DCA > Timing: Don’t try to buy the bottom. Buy a little every week or month. This is called Dollar Cost Averaging.

3. Zoom out: Check the 4-year chart, not the 4-hour chart. Bitcoin rewards people who think in years, not days.

Final thought

$BTC won’t make you rich overnight. But it teaches you 3 things: patience, self-custody, and thinking long term.

Whether $BTC goes to $200k or $50k next, one thing is true: it proved that money can exist without a bank.
