📊 Take-Profit Rules

A take-profit is the price where you get paid. It is planned before the entry, not invented while the trade is green.

🔹 Plan the Exit First

If you only know where you enter, the market will decide your exit for you. Usually at the worst moment.

Before you click, mark where you scale out or close. Partial at the first target. Rest at the next level. Or full close at a fixed reward. Write it down. Then the green candle cannot renegotiate it.

🎯 Use Structure, Not Hope

Targets should sit where price is likely to react.

• Next resistance in an up move
• Next support in a down move
• Prior swing high or low
• The other side of the range

Market structure gives you logical exits. “I’ll see how far it goes” gives you round-trips.

🚨 Greed Turns Winners Into Losers

The trade hits your level. You hold for more. Price stalls, reverses, and the open profit becomes a scratch or a loss.

That is not patience. That is moving the target because the unrealized number felt good. One extended winner does not fix a habit of giving gains back.

✅ Follow the Plan

Taking profit is a rule, same as the stop. Hit the first target, reduce size. Hit the second, close or trail only if your rules allow it.

You can always re-enter if a new setup forms. You cannot reload a winner you already gave back.

The entry gets you in. The take-profit is why you came. Honor both.

Share and Save this. On your next trade, mark the target before the entry. If you cannot name it, you are not ready to click.
