🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Chinese fraud victims lose key court battle over 61,000 Bitcoin
Chinese fraud victims seeking to recover 61,000 seized Bitcoin face a legal setback after a UK court ruled that Chinese law governs their claims.
Chinese fraud victims seeking to recover 61,000 Bitcoin seized by the British government have lost a key legal battle after London’s High Court ruled that Chinese law, rather than English law, should govern claims to the assets.
On Monday, Justice Mark Turnerrejectedarguments for applying English law or a combination of English and Chinese law to the victims’ ownership claims. The judge ruled that Chinese law must determine whether the claimants have property rights in the seized Bitcoin, leaving the validity of claims for subsequent proceedings.
“The relevant damage occurred in China. The Applicants parted with their money in China,” Turner wrote. “The contractual relationships thereby induced were entered into in China.”

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Palantir's Europe head warns the region is 'missing the boat' on AI just as it did with the internet
Palantir (PLTR) head of U.K. and Europe Louis Mosley warned that the region is making the same mistake with artificial intelligence (AI) that it made with the internet.
Where the U.S. "got the internet right," built a score of businesses and became the backbone of the digital economy, Europe "missed the boat," Mosley told CoinDesk in an interview.
The divergence between the markets in the decades since has been stark. Europe and the U.S. were roughly comparable 20 years ago on GDP per capita, capital-market depth and the scale of their largest companies. Since then, the U.S. has compounded growth while Europe has barely advancedin comparison.
Previous technology waves produced European champions. The internet wave produced almost none, with ASML (ASML) the rare exception, he said.
