Q-Day prep is getting real. TRON founder Justin Sun announced on X on Saturday (Oct 10) that the network's post-quantum cryptography is now live on testnet — and could ship to mainnet "at any time."
The groundwork dates back to June 30, when TRON's Nile testnet activated support for two post-quantum signature schemes: Falcon-based FN-DSA-512 and Dilithium-based ML-DSA-44, covering transactions, block signing, P2P handshakes and smart-contract verification. Mainnet activation still needs its own governance vote — no date given.
Worth noting: TRON carries roughly $95B in stablecoins, so the quantum clock ticks faster for it than for most chains. The race is officially on — Zcash is targeting January, Algorand 2027.
