Zcash has now activated NU7 on public testnet, and one change immediately stands out:
Block time has been cut from 75 seconds to 25 seconds.
That means the network is testing confirmations roughly three times faster than before.
The next date I’m watching is October 20, when developers are expected to review the test results. If everything goes as planned, mainnet activation is targeted for November 5.
Price is basically flat today, but this is exactly the kind of development I prefer watching over random hype.
Now the question is whether the upgrade works smoothly enough to reach mainnet.
