U.S. stock futures were slightly lower as inflation worries and fiscal pressure weighed on the bond market rebound. According to Sina Finance, at 8:28 a.m. in New York, S&P 500 futures fell 0.5%, Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 0.9%, and Dow futures declined 0.7%.
Chip stocks and large-cap technology shares were under pressure in premarket trading, while Iran stepped up attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, hurting market sentiment and pushing Brent crude above $101 a barrel. The Federal Reserve's September meeting minutes are due later, and ING strategist Francesco Pesole said there is limited room for a dovish surprise.
