Informa said it will evaluate all feasible options to support Taylor & Francis, whose revenue is set to approach $1 billion. According to Sina Finance, the company announced plans to spin off its academic publishing business Taylor & Francis and acquire B2B events company Clarion Events from Blackstone Group in a deal with an enterprise value of £2.24 billion, or $2.96 billion.
The group said that after the Taylor & Francis spin-off, it will focus on its core B2B business. Informa said it will announce the results of its review in March next year.
Informa plans to raise about £940 million in gross proceeds through a share issue to help fund part of the acquisition. The company said the deal is expected to lift adjusted diluted earnings per share by a mid-single-digit percentage in 2027 and deliver a double-digit post-tax return on invested capital within three years.
The placing, retail offer, and subscription will be completed through an accelerated bookbuild. Informa said its largest institutional shareholder plans to participate in the share placing in proportion to its holdings.
The company also kept its 2026 guidance unchanged, calling for 6% underlying revenue growth and double-digit growth in underlying earnings per share.
