🪙 Ripple plans XRP-backed lending for payment clients
Ripple President Monica Long announced at XRP Seoul on October 3 that the company plans to let payment customers borrow against XRP held in lending pools, using it as collateral for short-term financing.
Under the model, eligible institutions could meet payment obligations without liquidating their XRP holdings. Ripple has begun testing the concept, with broader deployment targeted for 2027.
