THREE METRICS, THREE DIFFERENT QUESTIONS 📊

GasFree’s September report brings together:
• 862,952 transactions.
• $14.87B in transfer volume.
• 479,390 total users.

Each number describes a different aspect of the service.

Transactions measure the number of recorded actions. Volume measures the value transferred. Total users describes the reported user base.

The reporting periods also matter. September activity and a total-user figure should not automatically be treated as the same monthly population.

For example, dividing September’s transactions by total users would not establish how often an active September user transacted.

A more detailed adoption picture would include monthly active users, returning participants, and the distribution of transfer sizes.

The published snapshot already gives useful scale. Keeping the definitions clear makes it more informative and provides a stronger foundation for comparing future reports.

Good ecosystem analysis begins with understanding what each number actually measures.
