Why Is $GTC Suddenly Exploding Again?
GTC has gone from quiet to crazy very quickly.
I checked for a major new Gitcoin announcement that could fully explain the move, but there doesn’t seem to be one clear catalyst. What we do have is a mix of fresh governance activity and a huge jump in trading attention.
Gitcoin is currently upgrading its DAO governance system. A recent proposal moves governance to the Cactus platform, with changes designed to improve security and how proposals are managed. Voting on that upgrade just finished around October 1.
There’s already another proposal on the table to lower the Snapshot voting quorum from 2.5M GTC to 1.5M GTC, keeping it aligned with the upgraded governance system.
But I don’t think governance news alone explains a move this aggressive.
Trading activity had already started rising before the latest breakout. Market data shows GTC volume jumped sharply on October 1 compared with previous days.
That looks more like momentum suddenly taking over.
GTC is also a relatively small token, so when fresh liquidity and speculative traders arrive together, price can move much faster than larger coins.
Can it keep going?
Yes, if volume stays strong and buyers keep controlling the momentum. But after such a vertical move, chasing becomes much riskier. Once early buyers start taking profit, the pullback can be just as fast.
So I wouldn’t call this a big news-driven pump yet.
Right now it looks more like fresh governance activity + rising volume + traders aggressively chasing momentum 👀
