Altcoin spot volume just hit 4x Bitcoin's for the first time since September 2025. Glassnode posted the chart and immediately flagged that this same setup has historically lined up with local tops for Bitcoin. It does not measure net capital flowing into altcoins. Darkfost, one of Glassnode's own analysts, asked publicly whether higher altcoin spot trading share actually equals higher demand. The answer is that rotation can mean capital moving from Bitcoin into alts or simply that alts are being bought and sold more frequently with the same capital. The Altcoin Season Index hit 64 this week, up from 33 just one month ago. But confirmed altseason requires 75 and Bitcoin dominance below 55%. Current dominance sits at 58.6%. The index is moving in the right direction and has not arrived yet. ETH/BTC broke a five-year downtrend. 72.5% of tracked altcoins are outperforming Bitcoin. 87% of Binance-listed alts are above their 200-day moving averages. These are not fake-out signals. But BTC at $84,000 with 4x altcoin volume has one historical parallel everyone should know. September 2025 was the last time this ratio appeared. That month marked Bitcoin's final consolidation before its run to $126,000.
