$BTC Below $83K: Don't React,Plan

Bitcoin just slipped under $83,000. Your feed is loud. Your plan should be quiet.

On Monday, September 28, Bitcoin traded near $83,200, down about 1.6% in 24 hours. Market reports linked the dip to renewed US-Iran tension. It followed a calm weekend when BTC touched roughly $85,000. Earlier in September it had reached almost $87,000.

Let's use this moment to learn two simple terms.

Support is a price area where buyers stepped in before. Resistance is a price area where sellers stepped in before.

Since late August, Bitcoin was repeatedly rejected near $83,000. That made it resistance. In September, price broke above it and ran higher. Now BTC is back at the same zone, but from above. Traders call this a retest. The idea is that old resistance can become new support. The key word is "can." It is a scenario, not a promise.

Levels many traders are watching (not predictions):

About $82,900: the nearest short-term support on recent 4-hour chart analysis

$80,000 to $81,000: the next area analysts mention if $83,000 fails

$85,000 to $86,000: resistance above

A simple plan for a moment like this:

Wait for a candle close. A wick below a level can be a trap. A 4-hour or daily close tells you more.

Pick your invalidation first. Ask: "At what price am I wrong?" Decide before you enter, not after.

Size from the stop, not from excitement. If your stop is far away, your position should be smaller.

Don't widen your stop when price gets close. That is how small losses become big ones.

Big picture: BTC is still about 34% below its October 2025 all-time high near $126,000, and it bounced from a 2026 low of $57,718 on July 1. So this is a debate between recovery and range, not a clear trend. Ranges punish overtrading.

The best trade is sometimes no trade until price shows its hand.
