Market sentiment can change quickly in crypto.
Right now, Binance's Crypto Fear & Greed Index is showing 72, which falls in the Greed zone. Yesterday's reading was 73, while last week's reading was also 73.
That tells us one thing clearly:
Market sentiment is currently positive.
But positive sentiment doesn't automatically mean prices must continue higher.
Why Greed Matters
When traders become increasingly optimistic, more capital can enter the market.
That can support momentum.
But strong optimism can also make traders less cautious. Binance's own explanation of the index notes that very high readings can warn of potential correction risk.
The Trader's Dilemma
This creates an interesting situation:
🟢 Greed can support momentum
but
⚠️ Too much optimism can increase risk
That's why sentiment should be viewed alongside price action, volume and market structure rather than used as a standalone trading signal.
What I'm Watching
If sentiment remains in the Greed zone, the key question is whether actual market participation continues to support the move.
For traders, the important distinction is:
Being bullish is not the same as being careless.
The market can remain bullish while individual trades still carry significant risk.
Your Turn
If the Fear & Greed Index stays above 70, what would you watch most closely?
BTC price action, trading volume, or altcoin momentum?
