Bitget’s hot wallet reportedly suffered a major security breach involving around $350M in assets.
The attacker reportedly didn’t steal private keys. Instead, compromised backend infrastructure was used to manipulate transfer data and trigger the signing process.
Cold wallets reportedly remain safe, while Bitget says its $464M+ User Protection Fund can cover the affected amount.
A serious reminder: crypto security goes beyond private keys. The infrastructure around them matters too.
Stay safe. Don’t keep all your funds on a CEX
