I then check any available security labels or warnings as an additional signal, verify the token through the project’s official channels, and look at its pool and liquidity information.
On STONFI, I can search or import the token using its contract address to make sure I’m checking the specific asset I intend to swap.
A familiar name doesn’t make a token authentic. The address comes first.
