Last week a short squeeze in $BTC exploded prices higher faster than most expected.
The pain of chasing that pump is real. Too many jumped in late thinking the rally had legs, only to get trapped when the buying vanished.
The squeeze explains part of the speed. Overleveraged shorts covering created a cascade that pushed $BTC up 7% in a few hours as open interest unwound sharply.
But that mechanical force doesn't last. Once those shorts were gone, the market had to find genuine buyers. It didn't. Volume dropped off and we reversed hard, leaving FOMO longs underwater.
That's the part people miss. These moves look strong until the forced flow ends. Then you see if it's real demand or just a trap. $ETH and $SOL showed similar fades after their own squeezes.
Where do you think this goes from here?
