XRPL is approaching an important upgrade, and the interesting part isn’t just the technology—it’s who may be ready to use it.

Ripple says asset managers and commercial projects are already preparing around Batch V1.1, which can bundle up to 8 transactions into one operation. Its atomic design means linked transactions either all succeed or all fail.

That could be useful for delivery-versus-payment, where an asset and its payment need to settle together, as well as exchange, wallet and marketplace fee flows.

The amendment currently has support from 30 of 35 tracked validators, above the 80% threshold needed for the activation countdown. If support holds, activation is projected shortly after Sept. 29.

What I’m watching most closely is adoption after activation—not the announcement itself. If asset managers actually move production workflows toward Batch, it could show how XRPL’s transaction model fits institutional settlement needs.
