$BTC
important to know for beginners
BTC/USDT is a trading pair that tells you the price of Bitcoin (BTC) in USDT (Tether).
BTC = Bitcoin
USDT = Tether, a cryptocurrency designed to track the US dollar (approximately 1 USDT ≈ $1)
BTC/USDT = How many USDT you need to buy 1 BTC
Example
If:
BTC/USDT = 80,000
It means:
> 1 BTC ≈ 80,000 USDT
If you buy 0.01 BTC:
0.01 × 80,000 = 800 USDT
If BTC rises to 82,000 USDT, and your 0.01 BTC becomes worth:
0.01 × 82,000 = 820 USDT
So your gross profit = 20 USDT (before fees).
On Binance
When you open BTC/USDT, you'll normally see a chart showing BTC's price against USDT, and you can place Buy or Sell orders.
Easy way to remember:
👉 BTC = what you're trading
👉 USDT = what you're measuring its price in.
