🔥 BREAKING — Trump Calls for Much Lower U.S. Interest Rates

President Donald Trump has called for U.S. interest rates to be cut to 1% or lower, shortly after the Federal Reserve raised its benchmark rate by 25 basis points to 3.75%–4.00%, its first hike since 2023.

Trump argued that the strength and credit position of the U.S. economy justify much lower borrowing costs and urged rates to be reduced quickly. Meanwhile, Fed Chair Kevin Warsh defended the rate increase, saying inflation remains too high and that the decision was aimed at bringing inflation back toward the Fed’s 2% goal.

This difference in views puts the spotlight on the Fed’s next decisions. For crypto and other risk assets, changing expectations around U.S. interest rates can also become an important market catalyst.
