Zcash holders have approved major changes for the network’s next upgrade, NU7.
Around 2.4 million $ZEC took part in the vote, with 99.9% supporting a cut in block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. This could help Zcash transactions confirm much faster.
The vote also kept Zcash’s Bitcoin-style halving model, with 98.9% support. The network will continue working toward its 21 million ZEC maximum supply.
Holders also backed delaying the Network Sustainability Mechanism until February 2031, while NU7 moves forward toward implementation and testing.
