Solana Tripled Its Transaction Size. Ethereum Still Has the Edge. $SOL shipped a real upgrade Tuesday: Transaction V1 raises the data one transaction can hold from 1,232 to 4,096 bytes, 3.3x more room. That unlocks things the old cap made painful, multisig approvals, zero-knowledge proofs, complex all-or-nothing trades in one shot instead of fragile bundles. Useful, and it narrows a gap that mattered. But here's the framing most bullish takes skip. This closes distance with Ethereum without overtaking it. Ethereum never had a rigid byte cap, it uses a flexible gas limit, so it already handled data-heavy operations if you paid up. Solana went from a hard wall to a higher wall. Progress, not a leapfrog. There's a practical catch too. Every service reading Solana data, wallets, apps, analytics, must support V1 or requests can fail. The Foundation warns a single V1 transaction in a block can break a request for that whole block on un-updated infrastructure. Old formats still work, but reading the new ones needs an update. So: real capability gain, honest limits, a short compatibility window to watch. Solana got meaningfully better. It didn't rewrite the pecking order. 🔧 #Solana #Altcoin Season#
