Why is everyone calling the latest push a retail comeback when the numbers clearly tell a different story?

Most traders keep getting chopped up trying to chase green candles on weekend liquidity, only to wonder why their breakouts stall immediately after entering.

Take last Friday as a textbook case study. When $ETH tapped $2,665 before cooling off near the $2.5K level, it was not retail euphoria driving the price. U.S. spot ETFs pulled in $216.4M in a single day, marking their strongest inflow in nearly two weeks, with BlackRock leading the charge at roughly $149M.

That institutional bid immediately squeezed over-leveraged bears, triggering around $216M in short liquidations to fuel the surge. While retail was fixated on $BTC dominance, the real shift was institutional accumulation clearing out liquidity on both sides.

Where do you think this goes from here once the ETF momentum settles?
