Binance serves eligible users in Colombia through its website and app, with documented COP deposits via PSE and Bre-B and withdrawals via Bre-B or ACH. Users can also buy and sell crypto through the COP P2P market. Identity verification, payment availability and product restrictions apply.
How Binance Works in Colombia
Binance is a cryptocurrency exchange where approved users can buy, sell, trade and hold supported digital assets. For Colombian users, the first practical decision is how to move between Colombian pesos and crypto.
Three transactions work differently:
Depositing COP: Fund an available peso balance through a supported fiat payment channel, then make a separate crypto purchase.
Buying through P2P: Pay pesos to another user under an exchange order and receive the agreed cryptocurrency.
Depositing crypto: Transfer an existing asset from another exchange or wallet over a supported blockchain network.
A bank transfer to a P2P seller does not credit your own COP balance. Likewise, a portfolio valuation displayed in COP does not mean you hold pesos available for bank withdrawal.
Check the deposit and withdrawal options in your verified account before transferring money. Availability can differ by account, payment provider and product.
Is Binance Regulated in Colombia?
Access to Binance and Colombian payment methods does not establish supervision by Colombia’s financial regulator. The Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia, or SFC, states in its public guidance that cryptoasset trading is outside its supervision and that cryptocurrencies are not legally recognized money in Colombia.
Historical bank partnerships require context. The SFC records that the Davivienda–Binance Colombia pilot ended on December 31, 2022. The broader crypto cash-in and cash-out sandbox program ended in June 2024. Participation in those tests does not establish a continuing license or government guarantee for Binance’s products.
Read the applicable account and product terms to identify the service provider. An overseas authorization or a payment provider’s regulatory status does not automatically extend to every crypto service you use.
Crypto holdings carry price and custody risks, and access to funds can be interrupted or restricted. Do not assume they have the protections of an insured Colombian bank deposit. Tax and other legal obligations can still apply to your transactions.
Create and Verify a Binance Account in Colombia
Start from Binance’s official website or follow its download instructions to install the app. A personal account is for an individual; a company applying in its own name follows the entity registration and verification process.
For a personal account:
Select Sign Up. Choose an available registration method: email, phone, Google, Apple or Telegram.
Verify your contact details. In the direct email or phone flow, enter the verification code before creating your password. Follow the separate prompts for linked sign-in services.
Create a unique password when prompted. Binance’s published minimum is eight characters, including an uppercase letter and a number. Use a longer password that you do not reuse elsewhere.
Complete identity verification. Select your actual residence, document-issuing country and an accepted document type. Follow the document-capture and facial liveness steps, then confirm your personal information.
Check the result and COP-service requirements. New users need the required verification before accessing services such as deposits and trading. A payment provider may request additional information.
Use the document options shown for your circumstances. For a Colombian-issued document, check whether the identity-card option accepts your cédula de ciudadanía. Foreign residents should enter their actual document-issuing country.
Match your legal name to the document, including both surnames when applicable. Provide proof of address only as requested, following the accepted document categories and validity period in the verification flow.
🏦 How to Deposit COP on Binance
Open Add Funds or Deposit, select COP, and check the methods available to your account. Review the amount limits, fees and payment instructions before creating an order.
Deposit Through Bre-B
Binance’s published app route starts at Add Funds → Deposit → Bank Transfer (Bre-B). On the website, select Deposit → COP → Bank Transfer (Bre-B).
Complete any outstanding verification or account-information request, enter the amount and confirm the order. Copy the generated receiving key, or llave, into your banking app and transfer the exact order amount.
The generated Binance deposit key is valid for one hour. Use the current order’s instructions and check existing orders before creating another. Treat the key as a destination for that order, rather than a permanent deposit address.
Binance warns that certain digital-wallet transfers may not credit because they omit required transaction information. Use a direct bank account or a supported method. Wait for the payment to be confirmed and the balance credited before buying crypto.
Bre-B operates through participating financial institutions’ channels. Banco de la República explains that sending uses the recipient’s key; registering your own key is relevant to receiving payments. You do not need to download a separate app from someone claiming to activate Bre-B.
Deposit Through PSE
Select Online Banking (PSE), enter the amount and provide the requested bank details. Binance specifies that the phone number supplied should match the one registered with your financial institution.
Continue through the PSE authorization process, then return to Binance and check the transaction history. Its published guide allows one to two business days for crediting, depending on bank processing.
A bank debit or payment authorization is not confirmation that the COP balance has arrived. If the deposit fails after your account was charged, retain the payment receipt and contact official support before sending again.
Bancolombia, Nequi and Other Local Payment Methods
Check compatibility for the particular transaction. For PSE, use the institutions offered in the payment flow. For Bre-B, follow Binance’s current sender requirements. For P2P, filter by the payment method you can use and inspect the available advertisements.
A Nequi or Bancolombia option in a P2P advertisement does not establish direct integration for Binance COP deposits or withdrawals.
How to Buy USDT or Bitcoin With Colombian Pesos
Use an Available COP Purchase Option
After a COP deposit is credited, open the available purchase interface and check whether your balance can fund the asset you want. Review the full peso charge and final crypto quantity before confirming.
Card purchases have separate availability and pricing. Check the billing currency, payment-provider fee and any card-issuer charges. A supported bank deposit does not establish support for every Colombian card.
Once you hold crypto, Convert offers quotes between supported assets, while Spot provides an order book and trading pairs. Check the actual markets offered; a Bitcoin price displayed in COP does not establish that a BTC/COP Spot pair is available.
Buy Through Binance P2P
Open P2P, choose Buy, select the asset and set the fiat currency to COP. Compare the price, order limits, payment method, trading history and advertiser’s terms.
Create the order before paying. Use a payment account in your own verified name and check that the receiving account name matches the seller’s verified Binance name. Do not pay a third-party account. Mark the order paid only after completing the transfer.
If you have paid but the crypto has not arrived, keep the order open and use its chat or appeal process. Do not cancel based on a promise that a refund will follow. Preserve the receipt and verify any refund in your own account.
P2P assets are generally handled through the Funding Wallet. An internal transfer to Spot may be needed before trading; that transfer moves the asset without buying or selling it.
USDT is designed to track the US dollar, but it carries issuer, redemption and depegging risks. Its price in COP also reflects the peso-dollar exchange rate and local market conditions.
How to Withdraw Money From Binance in Colombia
Choose between withdrawing an available COP balance and selling crypto to a P2P buyer who pays you in pesos. These routes have different instructions and dispute processes.
Withdraw COP to a Bank Account
Open Withdraw, select COP, and choose a supported method. Binance documents Bank Transfer (Bre-B) and Bank Transfer (ACH).
Provide or confirm your personal and recipient-bank information, enter an amount within your available balance, review the fee and net payout, and complete the requested security verification.
The published guidance describes Bre-B withdrawals as instant and ACH withdrawals as taking one to four business days. These are processing expectations, not guarantees for every order. Follow the status and estimate shown for your withdrawal.
If you hold crypto, first check whether a supported sale or conversion can produce a withdrawable COP balance. Changing the portfolio’s display currency to COP does not perform that sale.
Sell Crypto Through P2P
Choose Sell in the COP marketplace and use a receiving account in your own name. Before releasing the crypto, independently open your bank or payment app and confirm the full payment and matching payer details.
A buyer’s screenshot, SMS or “paid” status is insufficient proof. If the payment is missing, pending or from a different person, keep the crypto in escrow and use the order’s appeal process.
Escrow holds crypto for the transaction. It does not eliminate payment reversals, banking disputes or account freezes.
Binance Colombia Fees: Calculate the Full Cost
The standard Regular User Spot schedule checked for this guide lists 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker fees, before applicable discounts. Pair-specific pricing, promotions and VIP levels can change the rate. Review the fee shown for your account and trading pair.
The complete cost can also include:
Fiat deposit or withdrawal charges.
The exchange rate or spread in a purchase or Convert quote.
A P2P advertiser’s price margin and any applicable platform fee.
Bank, card-issuer or currency-conversion charges.
A later crypto withdrawal fee for the selected network.
For a USDT purchase, calculate total COP paid ÷ net USDT received. A hypothetical purchase costing COP 410,000 and delivering 100 USDT has an effective price of COP 4,100 per USDT. This is an example, not a live quote.
Compare the same amount at approximately the same time and use the same destination for both calculations. If you intend to withdraw crypto immediately, include that charge. If you intend to cash out in pesos later, account for selling and withdrawal costs too.
Other Products and Account Restrictions
Check access to each product independently. Spot access does not establish access to Earn, Margin, Futures or Copy Trading.
For Earn, examine reward calculations, redemption terms and any lockup. For leveraged trading, understand borrowing costs, margin requirements and liquidation. Copying another trader does not protect against losses.
Use the product terms and restrictions presented to your verified account. A feature shown in a global advertisement may be unavailable to your profile or require additional checks.
🔐 Binance Colombia Login and App Security
Enter binance.com directly and select Log In. Before submitting credentials, confirm that the login hostname is exactly accounts.binance.com. Use the email, phone number or linked sign-in method associated with your existing account.
Download the app through Binance’s official download instructions. Installing it on a new phone does not require a new account. Avoid unofficial “Colombia editions,” APK files sent through private messages and people offering to complete KYC for you.
Enable a passkey or authenticator where available, review authorized devices and protect recovery information. Approve a QR login only for a session you initiated. Never share passwords, login codes or remote access to your device.
For external crypto transfers, match the asset, receiving address and blockchain network, and include any required memo or tag. Check minimums and fees before sending. A crypto withdrawal does not convert the asset into pesos or credit a Colombian bank account.
Binance and Colombian Crypto Taxes
DIAN treats cryptoassets as assets that can form part of a taxpayer’s wealth and generate income. Colombian tax residents who must file a return need to assess the relevant holdings and transactions under the applicable rules.
Tax consequences can arise before a bank withdrawal. DIAN’s unified guidance treats crypto-to-crypto swaps as exchanges of assets, requiring the relevant gain or loss calculation. Moving the same asset between wallets you own generally does not itself generate taxable income when ownership and asset type remain unchanged.
Keep acquisition costs, COP valuations, sales, swaps, rewards, fees and transfer records. Retain bank receipts, exchange order IDs and blockchain transaction hashes where relevant. Filing duties and tax treatment depend on residence, activity and the tax year; a Colombian tax professional can assess your records.
What to Do When a COP Payment or Balance Looks Wrong
COP payment methods are missing: Check verification, residence details, outstanding provider requirements and service notices. Ask official support about the specific method.
Your bank was debited but no COP arrived: Check the original deposit order and its processing window. Provide its reference and proof of payment to support before sending a duplicate transfer.
Purchased crypto is unavailable for Spot trading: Check Funding and Spot balances, open orders and any product holding the asset.
A withdrawal is pending: Identify the route first: ACH, Bre-B, P2P or a blockchain transfer. Supply the corresponding order ID, bank reference or transaction hash, together with the amount and time.
Access support from the official app or website. Keep P2P discussions within the order and never pay an unsolicited “agent” an activation, tax or recovery fee to unlock funds.
