Will CPI Trigger a Rate Hike?

I’m not going to pretend I know what the Fed will do before CPI drops.

The strong payrolls number already got people talking again. Now CPI is coming in, and honestly, that’s the number I’m watching most closely.

If inflation comes in hotter than expected, I can see the market getting nervous pretty quickly. Rate-hike fears could come back, stocks could take a hit, and gold might catch some attention.

But a softer CPI could flip that mood just as fast.

This is why I’m not comfortable being aggressively bullish or bearish right now. I’ve seen too many times how the market moves one way before the data and completely reverses after it.

For me, the important thing isn’t just the CPI number.

It’s how the market reacts to it.

Right now, I’m staying patient, keeping some dry powder, and watching stocks and gold closely.

One report. One surprise. And suddenly the whole story can change. 👀📉📈
